Ingredients for basic recipe:
3 cups filtered water
1/2 cup organic elderberries (Sambucus nigra)
1 c raw honey
Bring water and elderberries to a boil in a stainless steel pot. Reduce heat and simmer until liquid is reduced by half.
Strain through fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth into a glass container (I use a measuring cup).
Return to the rinsed out pot. Add honey. Warm on low and stir until honey is blended in.
Jar and keep in the refrigerator. Should last for 2 months.
